family

Calvin is growing up and is getting bigger and bigger. Him and Max are finally able to play together which I appreciate. However there still is a downside like when Calvin gets clothes lined because Max wants to do something first, or Max decides to race Calvin to things. On the other side of things they can be super nice and kind to one another and build blocks and such. I like that they can finally interact with one another and do things together.

Emily is doing really well at school she is making new friends, and working hard. We are starting to get into those dress up days. My favorite is her as an old lady for the 100th day of school too funny. Emily and Max are getting more daring by climbing up and hanging on trees. It amazes how quickly they are figuring stuff out lately.

Calvin likes to play in the shower when I go to the bathroom apparently he is afraid I will get lonely with out him

Cardiologist

So because Calvin turned one years old we took him to the Cardiologist for his Echo to check on the holes in his heart. He had a blast doing it, he sat super still for the whole thing. Dr Shidlow was very impressed with him. However my favorite part was the facts that all of his holes are now closed. YAY! for a healthy heart.

Emily is 6

We have had a fairly busy month, but most recently we were pretty excited because Emily May Brown is six years old. We had been planning on doing a camp out for her birthday, well that didn't quite happen because well it was freezing cold that night. So Jason decided to camp out downstairs with the kids. After about an hour Max was done and back upstairs, but Jason and Emily slept down there all night in the tents Aunt Jenny gave them. The next morning Jason went and got Paul's Bakery donuts. Emily had a lovely birthday party over two days. Friday night Holly came over and we played games and played Barbies and whatever else, then we had BBQed Hot dogs, hamburgers, and ate chips. Then we made a fire outside and cooked smores. The fire went a little crazy and left our pit so Jason had to do some stomping of it. The next she ate donuts, and Grammy and Papa came over and ate pizza with us. I am grateful as well as Emily for all the wonderful gifts she got. People really know Emily.

Emily is reading pretty good now, she actually read her talk at church, she loves shopkins, princesses and Barbies. She loves to run around and be in charge. She is super excited for her Dad to be coaching her soccer team.

Calvin Cornelius is One

It is weird to think that just one year ago we brought Calvin home from the hospital, now he is a very independent curious little boy. His favorite things to do is find the fish tank and yell at it or hit it with other objects including frying pans, spoons and of course his hands. He loves play outside more then anything, he likes eating dirt and just wandering around and seeing what things are. At one years old he is walking saying mom and dad waving hello and good bye, clapping, and my personal favorite screaming at me when I am not doing what he wants. When he wants to know more about things he points an if he wants in he reaches for it and waves. I feel like he is saying hello thing I want bring it closer. His favorite food his probably sweet potatoes, but he also loves bread or crackers. He has a little intolerance to lactose, so we can only feed him small amounts of milk products. Here is to my curious little boy and mischievous as well Calvin Cornelius Brown.

So one of the best parts about being home all the time is seeing my kids grow up some of the not so fun ones are when they have learned how to torture each other. Emily recently has decided to torture her younger siblings in different ways moving away from Max whenever he is close, stating she knew that before him, or just not talking to him, it does bring lots of memories for me, but here are two more recent moments of sibling torture.
Emily got a fairy outfit from a birthday...look who she dressed as a fairy

Emily beat him to the bathroom so she got to get the toothpaste first (this is a  daily fight)
Overall my kids are awesome and fun, but I think it is important we remember the ridiculousness of something like fighting over toothpaste, or who pick out the forks. Another thing my two older ones fight about is Max hates being alone so Emily hurries through her breakfast some mornings and I can hear max screaming from my room. I  DON'T WANT TO BE ALONE!!!

Snow

So a few weeks ago, we had our first snow. The crazy part and disappointing to Jason was that it was on a Saturday. Max, Emily and I ran outside and played in the snow that morning before Jason headed of to work. It was a lot of fun. Then later after Calvin's morning nap we went sledding down one of our roads. It was a lot of fun. One of our neighbors even joined us. Then we headed home and ate lunch. Later Jason took the older two outside to play, it was too cold for Calvin to go back out. He was good the first time until he decided he didn't want to wear gloves so lets just say his hands got a little cold. Then it took forever once we got home to calm him down. He is one crazy boy. After that we spent time together as family hanging out, church was cancelled that Sunday as well as school that Monday and Tuesday. It was nice to have Emily home so Max could have a playmate he really does miss his sister. Calvin like usual was terror and has taken to moving furniture around the house so he can get where he wants.

Fish Tank

Jason asked for a fish tank for Christmas thanks to Grandma, my mom and Aunt Jenny we got it done. We have a 10 gallon tank we bought three fish originally, but we have already had one die. However the others are doing great. We still have three fish because we bought another Platy because the other two were chasing each other around the tank it was weird. Here is Clifford and Sunny our new fish is named Rainbow. All three different types of Platy the one that died was a fish that ate Algae.
