Emily went to Church

Everything is going okay in our household since my mom left. Things are little more stressful, but Jason has been a ton of help. The Sunday my Mom left I decided that our little family was going to church. We dressed her in the outfit the her Grandma gave her she looked adorable. Also she was amazing all through church because she just slept.

Other than that Emily and I have been keeping busy we are going on walks and enjoying hanging out. In other exciting news I have to get my gall bladder taken out because of a polyp that has developed. I had two gall bladder attacks on sunday morning. Jason took me to the ER while Jason's dad watched Emily. He was our first babysitter too bad it was at 1:30 in the morning. We got home at 8Am sunday and it was snowing like crazy. So I gave Emily a bath when we got home and got her dressed for church. It was like the weather was perfect the dress says snow bunny. She was a little more rowdy during church and because Jason had not slept in 24 hours I was at church alone, but everyone was way helpful. I did not have to worry about her all through sacrament or when I was teaching my class. People in the church are so nice and they love babies.

Well we shall see how the rest of this week fares and when my surgery is. Sometimes life is crazy.

EMILY and GRANDMA

Emily made it here. I have to admit I felt like my pregnancy was never going to end. I went into labor about 10:30PM on the 03/10/2011. I thought it was fake labor like usual because my doctor finally set my inducement date which was to be the next day. Jason got home from work about 11:30PM and saw how much pain I was in, I reassured him that it was fake labor and that he should go to eat with his dad, but if the pain continued I would let him know. Needless to say by this point my contractions were well less than 2 minutes apart and I was in a lot of pain, I was staring out the window waiting for Jason to get home, but I decided I should text him. He got home and we decided that I should go to the hospital. I refused to let him tell anyone just in case it was false labor. We got to the hospital and of course all the rooms were occupied except for the room where it was like a billion degrees. The nurses did not seem to pay a whole lot of attention to me because I told them my water broke but they did not believe me and itw as not until I was bleeding a lot that they decided I needed some help. Meanwhile my temperature is above 100 and I am throwing up and there was no garbage in my room, so poor Jason was standing holding bags of puke waiting for a nurse to come. As I am puking the monitor keeps on going off because my blood pressure was to high so we had to keep hitting a button. Finally the on call ob gyn showed up and looked at me and saw meconium but did not care to share it with others. They finally moved me to a labor and delivery room, my contractions were now right on top of one another, but I was not progressing at all. My doctor finally got there and was asking why I had not recieved my epidural I had been screaming for the last few hours. They said it was because I had not had my blood test ran yet. So she left to go make things happen. The lady came up drew my blood, but she could not wait tell I was done with a contraction so alas I have huge bruise from that. Than the epidural guy came (who was awesome and had a sense of humor) and gave it to me. During all of this I was still losing a ton of blood, I had changed gowns and had went through like a ton of hospital pad things. My babies heart rate had dropped and so I was wearing an oxygen mask which made it hard to breathe as well. Although after I could feel no pain I was watching the disney channel and enjoying myself. My doctor came in and said that she was worried about my blood loss because my placenta may of ruptured, and she was worried because my babies heart rate was still dropping after each contraction. So alas I was having a C-Section.
The C-Section went great they put me on some drugs and I had the same anesthesiologist that gave me the epidural which made me feel way comfortable. After they were prepped Jason came in and the surgery went really well I was so out of it that I pretty much slept through the whole thing, minus the couple minutes I was throwing up again.
They showed us the baby and realized she had swallowed some meconium as well as some was in her lungs, so I saw her for two seconds tell she was rushed to the NICU.
We named her Emily May Brown she was born on 03/11/2011 at4:58 AM 9lbs 8 ounces, 23 inches.
Emily was in the NICU from Friday tell Tuesday when we were able to bring her home. It is nice to have her home now. I am getting used to being a mom and I am so glad that my Mom has flown down here otherwise I would have been way lost. She gets up with me and the baby every three hours and helps me by making dinner and doing everything she can. She drove me back and forth from the hospital when Jason couldn't and trying to teach me to breast feed, filling my car with gas, and going to the store. She has braved the roads of Virginia and has found her way. I really do not want her to go home on Sunday because I wonder how I am going to do it all. She has managed to take care of me and Emily really well. It has been nice to have someone to take care of me like my Mom does. I forgot how much she has really has done for me growing up and I love her. Emily loves her Grandma so much and has been glad that she has been there. Also Grandma has had tons of fun picking out her outfits and deciding what she gets to wear. She also has made sure the Emily has a dress that she can be blessed in because well her mom is kind of a slacker. I love it, plus she has taught many of the mothering skills that I needed to know in order to become a good Mom. Well I know that I am going to miss her when she leaves on Sunday, but I know she is also only a phone call away along with the rest of my family. Here are some pictures for the NICU and her being home.
