Day 6 Beach and trip home

The beach was a blast, Calvin was not a fan, but the rest of the kids loved it. They loved having the waves hit them. They wrote their names in the sand. Max was so sad when it got erased, we dug giant holes. So Jason and I took turns hanging out with Calvin. We were also able to see some dolphins and Jason found a weird thing he didn't know what to call it. However, the most eventful part of the evening was the drive back. It started to rain as we left, but I didn't think it was that much. There was traffic by the tunnel so we went a different way. The other way was just as crazy. It started with us turning around in a not so turning around spot, and then headed back. We drove through a flood in downtown Norfolk. The guy in front of us opened the door to look at it. The firetruck and police were on the way to redirect traffic after we made it through. We went through another flooded area, but we made it home.
the beautiful beach

Emily had to wear her beach shirt like Leah's

Max wore his beach shirt, he told me he wanted to match Joshua

The boys, this was right before a wave came and got Calvin and he started crying.

Max loved the waves

Day 5

Friday I wanted to relax, so I let Jason keep the car and we walked up and found a bagel store. These people were super nice and gave my lovelies cookies. The annoying thing about it was Max had to go potty. So when I went to take him to the bathroom. He pulled down his pants in the middle of the bathroom and starts peeing. I mean everywhere, meanwhile he is telling me over and over again that potty was too tall and that he can't stop it. So I am holding Calvin and cleaning up pee, and Max seemed super perplexed as to why the toilet was so high.  After bagels we spent the rest of the afternoon doing puzzles and swimming.
He was so happy the whole time

mmmm good

the puzzles were too much for him.

Day 4

After dropping Jason off, we drove back to Fredericksburg. Emily had Kindergarten round up, and Aunt Sandra was moving to Texas and we wanted to say good bye. However the trip down was awful. I hit traffic our van does not idle well and so well it died. About a quarter of a mile away from there I could drive normal. So I put on my flashers and tried to make my way to the shoulder and then to the exit. I called Jason's Dad crying. he started to come to my rescue, but before he could I was going. I was praying so much during that, Max and Emily were super patient (Calvin was crying) we missed Kindergarten round up, but I was so grateful because we were moving. I got back on I 95 and drove the rest of the way. While we got home I checked to make sure nothing was leaking and that everything was okay. I called Emily's school and asked if we could go to the later one they let us and off we went. After that we ate lunch and then went swimming. After swimming we said good bye to Aunt Sandra I know that Max already misses her especially when he swims. He still talk about her and Tom all the time. After that we picked Jason up and headed to dinner and the hotel.
She is such a big girl!

Day 3

We were originally going to go to watch the butterflies, but I was too cheap. So we went to three lakes recreation park. This was cool because there were snakes as well as a fresh water aquarium. We drove out played on the park part of it, then walked the hiking trail. I am pretty sure we saw a heron. Then we came back had a snack saw some turtles then went into where the animals were. It was pretty cool, Max's favorite part was the freshwater aquarium. It was pretty cool to see a legless lizard too.  Then we went home had a nap, then went and played at the pool.

Day 2

Day 2 started off very similarily to the first we dropped Jason off, but then we headed to short pump tot he children's museum. However, with my master GPS and driving skills I put in the downtown address and did not realize it until I was on I64. Then I put in the right address, and we were headed in the right direction. However, still have direction challenges and could not figure out where it was. Turns out it was in the out door mall, but we parked somewhere I made the kids walk all the way there. It was easier to find that. As we left I turned the wrong way and of course got lost again. I love not knowing my direction. Then we rested in the Hotel room and then we swimming.

This center they a whole bunch of toys they could play with. Max loved the cars.

You placed stuff in the tubes and it shot out of the other hole it was way cool.

Vacation Day 1

Sunday after dinner we headed on our "vacation" I can't call it a real vacation because well Jason worked everyday, but we stayed in a hotel which made it a vacation. The first night we got in about 8 we put everyone to bed and slept. Then Emily Max, Calvin and I dropped Jason off at work then we explored the hotel and surrounding area and went swimming. It was a lot of fun. I enjoy walking around and seeing new places. The only downside was that it was super hot.
