Calvin's Heart

When Calvin was born they found a hole in his heart from doing an ECHO. At 4 months we were supposed to go to the pediatric cardiologist and get it checked out, well we waited six and unfortunately it is still there. So now we have to continue to monitor it every year. I hate that he has something wrong with him, but it can be fixed. At three if he still has this condition they will give him a stent. However, the doctor sounded hopeful the hole would close.

what a trooper

Firsts

So a lot of firsts happened this month. Emily's first day of Kindergarten, Emily's first day of Soccer, Max's first Day of Grammy school, Mom's first time not working or going to school.

To start Emily loves everything about school (she has no idea what anyone's name is, but she loves school). She loves music class and the instruments, but her favorite part is coloring. She loves riding the bus because their are no seat belts. On her first day Jason saw her off on the bus he had a hard time because she didn't give him a hug, she was so ready. Holly came over and did her hair, and Papa came over to see her on the bus. It was a great first day. After school Holy wanted a picture of her hair to see if if fell out that is the last picture on the right.

she is so ready

Emily's first day of soccer was fun to watch I am so glad her friend Gavin was there it helped her adjust better and not be so nervous. She did great and was super sweaty she is looking forward to playing in the spring now too.

Loves the snack afterwards (but who doesn't)

Max's first day of Grammy school. He loves Grammy school he tells me all about the stuff he learns. Right now is favorite part was making applesauce and he asks lots of questions about why the leaves fall. (I guess they are talking about the season fall).

He had to wear his Ketchup shirt

I am going a little crazy staying home, but mainly because I miss the interactions with other kids and adults so I have added some of that to my life and hopefully I don't eat all the food in the house.

Max and Calvin are getting to know each other more.

Labor Day!

One of my new favorite traditions is to go to Aunt Helen's for Labor Day. We packed the kids in the car and headed there. It was a lot of fun. This year was better then last because I got to slip n slide. The crazy part is Calvin slept for a super long time while we were there. Max was not a fan of the slip and slide but loved there porch swing and trampoline and Emily and Jason had a blast slip and sliding as well. Emily also loved everything else too. The only thing she is unsure of is the dog and so was Max. Jayne (the dog) even took a bite of Max's hot dog. Needless to say he was not pleased.  Aunt Helen made some delicious Apple cheese cake bars and I think that may have been the only thing I ate besides her potato salad. Overall lots of fun and it is always nice to see the extended family. On the way Emily crashed Max of course did not but it took her tell she was inside before she really woke up.
Giant slip n slide, it went all the way down their hill

she loved it

Thanks Aunt Sandra

We have a new pen pal,  Aunt Sandra. We have been writing back and forth with her and it has been fun. She sent us a post card and some seeds for Texas. We love Aunt Sandra and miss her.

Emily is going to Kindergarten

Emily is such a big girl. Yesterday we went to her open house. We were able to meet her teacher. She was very excited. She starts on Tuesday and is looking forward to the bus. She was trying to convince me she could walk to her bus stop alone. I am going to miss her being home all day. She is a great big help, Calvin loves her the most. However, she is super excited and ready. As of right now she want to be an animal doctor, is excited for Music class, and favorite color is pink and purple, but she is starting to like purple a little less (her words not mine). I love that crazy girl.

Calvin Cornelius Brown is 20 pounds, 27 3/4 inches and has a big head. All in the 90 percentile. He loves everything but fruit. He is scooting on his belly like a champ, and his favorite toy are cords and anything he shouldn't have.

King's Dominion

We finally made it to Kings Dominion it was a lot of fun. Holly took us and we spent all day there. Emily is becoming quite the daredevil she is enjoying roller coasters, and loves water slides. My favorite thing is when we went down one together she was laughing as hard as she can. It made me laugh. Max is getting more and more used to rides. My favorite is when he told Holly that he wasn't going to cry this time on the pumpkin coaster. I think it is funny how different they can be Emily loves the rides and Max likes the train and driving the cars. Max, Emily, Holly and I went on the log ride and got splashed it was a lot of fun. Calvin did not go on any rides and cried for part of it. The crazy part of the trip was how many crazies were there, and yelling at people. One man was yelling at some teenagers who then hid from him. Another person got mad on one of the rides too (people are funny) I am so grateful for Holly and all she has done for our family and we are sad that she is not going to be moving in with us, I miss having an other girl in the house.

Library Fun Fests, and Star Wars Night

So first things first the other Friday we went to Star Wars night where they played a Star Wars movie, but we didn't stay for that. Instead  we played had fun and then went home to our own beds. Max and Emily had a blast I have also never seen someone with so much talent when it comes to face painting it was amazing. Max and Emily had a blast, Calvin wanted to be asleep. I won a cookbook and Max got to take a picture with his favorite star wars character Chewbaca. I think it is funny how much he is growing up. As a treat cause the kids were awesome we let them pick an ice cream to buy Emily got a Bratz doll and Max got a minion. My kids are total stereotypes sometimes.

That next morning we woke up and went to my old school and painted some fun games on their black top, then went to the Funfest at our old library. They had all sorts of stuff to do. It was fun to watch them have preferences as to what they did. Max did not like the parachute at all, but loved throwing things at the pokemon characters and building with blocks. Emily loved the parachute and Freddy the Frog. Both of them loved the police officers, and making a bubble painting where they blow colored bubbles and it create circles on their paper when it popped it was totally cool. Calvin slept, At the end we had some popsicles and headed home.
